The Polenta package provides methods to compute polycyclic presentations of matrix groups (finite or infinite). As a by-product, this package gives some functionality to compute certain module series for modules of solvable groups. For example, if G is a rational polycyclic matrix group, then we can compute the radical series of the natural Q[G]-module Q^d.
Download and unpack one of the archives given
below in the pkg subdirectory of your
GAP installation.
Unpacking generates a subdirectory polenta-X.Y where X.Y is
the version number. Move polenta-X.Y to the directory
polenta.
Follow the instructions in the chapter `Installing the package' of the
manual. The manual is available below or in the
subdirectory polenta/doc.
The manual of the package is available in several formats. If the package has been installed properly, all of these documents are also accessible through the GAP online help.
